Who Am I? How Did I Get Here?

Lover of Spider-Man. Player of Nintendo. And very serious professional. My career has spanned everything from weighty issues (e.g. covering the 2013 government shutdown’s effect on cancer research) to less weighty issues (e.g. making robotic vacuums work better). I cut my teeth as a journalist interviewing members of Congress and government officials, and because of that I learned that people really are just people…and that nobody has the right to take themselves too seriously.

I’m hopelessly idealistic in that I believe, even in the age of mass disinformation, that words matter. That big institutions change and hearts and minds can be won when your message is clear. I was a data-driven policy journalist who became a content marketer and digital product manager...but took a turn for the world of design when I realized its power to holistically transform cultures and organizations. I’ve had a wonderfully eclectic career—and I’m always hungry to bite off more than I can chew and learn to chew it.

Here you can learn a bit more about my path. Feel free to reach out about job opportunities, freelance work, or whatever is on your mind (like Spider-Man reboots or Nintendo's product strategy...)
